Information

Ring Shape

Today we offer six core shapes. However, our method of production allows us to produce a ring in a wider range of shapes than the options below. Over the years we’ve accumulated hundreds of moulds; we continue to add to our collection. Please let us know if you have something more specific in mind.

face size

All of our rings are bespoke and made to your own specification.

The oval is our most popular; we typically produce these with a face size of 11x9mm through to 16x14mm.

All other shapes are mostly crafted in four weights / dimensions. We can, however, work to any specification you desire.

Finger Size

UK ring sizes range from A - Z with half sizes in-between.

When filling out the quotation form, please let us know if you would like to receive a ring gauge.

Material

Our yellow gold rings are available in 9, 14, 18 and 22 carat gold.

Our rose and white gold rings are available in 9, 14 and 18ct.

We also work in platinum, palladium and silver.

Engraving Style

Seal-engraving

A deep engraving cut in the reverse to leave a positive impression in wax, traditionally used to seal correspondence. This technique mostly applies when engraving traditional heraldic devices.

Deep Carving for Show

Cut as deep as a seal, only this time in the positive. Often used when engraving a monogram.

Surface-Engraving

A less deep carving. Very popular technique used for engraving initials.

Engraving Content

Initials / Monogram

Please let us know the initials you would like engraved when filling out the quotation. We will then show you some options or help with the design of a monogram.

Crest

Taken from the top / crest of a coat of arms. Arguably the most popular and traditional choice.

Shield

As the name implies, this is the shield taken from the coat of arms.

Full Coat of Arms

An elaborate, complex engraving of a family’s full coat of arms.

(From left to right, below: crest only, full coat of arms, shield only)

Something else?

Many of our customers choose something else entirely, something with meaning. The best source of inspiration is our Instagram page.

Should you wish to combine multiple elements from a coat of arms engraved, this is possible. Please let us know in the ‘is there anything else you’d like to tell us?’ box when filling out the quotation form.

Stone

Typically our rings are set with:

  • Bloodstone

  • Carnelian

  • Onyx

  • Sardonyx (red/white, blue/black, green/white)

  • Lapis

Should you have another gemstone in mind or wish to create something a little different, please let us know and we would be delighted to make additional suggestions.
